While it is not possible to eliminate the possibility of a customs exam, some steps can be taken to minimize the risk of your shipment being selected
Some options are as below;
- Shipping FCL: Full Container Load shipments are less likely to be flagged for inspection than Less Container Load (LCL) shipments.
- Choosing a reputable LCL service: If you do need to ship LCL, consider using a service like Beeontrade's in-house LCL option. This service is more selective about the goods that are consolidated into a single shipment, which may result in a lower rate of inspection and delay.
- Participating in CTPAT: The Customs-Trade Partnership Against Against Terrorism (CTPAT) is a voluntary supply chain security program that aims to improve security measures throughout the international supply chain. By participating in this program, you may be able to reduce the likelihood of your shipments being selected for a customs exam.
Keep in mind that customs exams are often random, and it is not possible to eliminate the risk of your shipment being selected.
However, by following these steps, you may be able to minimize the likelihood of your goods being subjected to an exam.
