For Amazon sellers who store merchandise at Amazon fulfillment facilities, Amazon FBA is increasing the cost of monthly and long-term storage in 2018
Beginning on April 1, 2018, Amazon will increase the monthly storage fees for merchandise kept in Amazon FBA facilities.
A change is occurring
Fees for monthly inventory storage will increase by $0.05 per cubic foot as of April 1, 2018. The adjustments will be made to the inventory for April, and they will be visible in May.
Changes on August 15, 2018:
Items kept in FBA warehouses for 365 days or more will be charged a minimum of $0.50 per unit per month. It will cost either this minimum long-term storage fee or the standard long-term storage rate, whichever is higher.
On September 15, 2018, the semi-annual assessment of long-term storage fees will be replaced by a monthly assessment.
For items housed in Amazon fulfillment centers, storage restrictions still apply. The Inventory Performance Index of Amazon merchants with professional seller accounts will decide their storage restrictions.
